Here am I on almost the last night of 2012, remembering all the volunteers in the past year who, along with our financial donors, who made it all happen. A couple of weeks ago, I was asked by the BLM for a breakdown and tally of all of our volunteer hours in 2012, I fully expected the number to be around 1,000 hours….boy was I wrong. We tallied so much more than that!; indeed 2013 is certainly going to be a hard act for us to follow.
Here are the amazing numbers:
KOPL Volunteer Hours 2012
Docent Hours: Counting 8 hours as a docent shift
September 224 Total 848
Docent Training Hours:
Volunteer (appreciation!) Work Days Trail work, beach clean-up, noxious weed removal
Clerical and Historian: Emails, research, membership, newsletter, deliveries
Total Hours, 2012
Congratulations to all our docents, KOPL members, our Board members, those who otherwise donated time and or money, the Crew at Washington State Parks and thanks to everyone who loves our lovely island and little lighthouse on Patos Island.
All the best to you and yours in the coming year…roll on 2013!
